TIME FOR SOME TIME!
I've been wandering around in the world without a watch for several years. I usually rely on the clock in the car to keep me on time, but really! How pitiful! So I found this fun fashion watch on clearance at Macy's for $26 bucks! It's probably a Timex made for Nine West, just one of the many store brands. Sorry for the out of focus...but it is about 1.5" across so I can actually read it! Most of my old watches have much smaller faces and are almost impossible for me to read, so I just quit wearing them. No problemo with this one!

SHOE ENOUGH!
Gosh, who was it that said, "We can't get too much rain....keep in coming!" Moi?
Okay, so I'm thinking ahead to spring and summer in the wardrobe department. Seems like the folks at Zappos are doing the same and getting in all their new styles for the season. So while I can't wear them yet, I can order them! Wide shoes in my size go fast!
These becoming suede sandals are by Mark Lemp for Walking Cradles. They have some nice padding in the footbed...not as much as some of their clunkier shoes, of course. And they come in WIDE...a must for my dancer's feet! The 2" wrapped heel is perfect...they'll look nice with ankle length crops, skirts and regular length slacks. I think black is a chic summer color when paired with creme, fuchsia or teal and some cool silver jewelry. Come on sun! Oh, the polish on my toes is by OPI..."Lingering Over Coffee." It seems to go with most everything.

A JEWEL OF AN IDEA!
In my massive reorganization efforts this year, I came across a funny looking hanger at TJ Maxx. Supposedly it was for the purpose of hanging up jewelry. It appealed to me since I had many necklaces that I never wore because they were always tangled up in my jewelry chest and I didn't have the patience to untangle them when I wanted to wear them. So I didn't.
The problem is that if you hang this hanger it in the closet, it was hard to see what was on it and hard to remove without spilling the rest of it! But I figured that my engineer honey could devise something to make it work for me.
He didn't disappoint! He cut off the hanger part and secured the holder part to the outside of my lingerie chest next to the closet. Who knew I had so many pieces! I filled it up quickly. And with the latest fashion being to combine and wear more than one necklace at a time, now I can spot what necklaces and pendants will work with each other. Call me happy and bejeweled!

GETTING MY EVERYDAY STYLE ON
It's a new year and a new me, sort of. My resolution to dress more fashionably all the time started last year with dropping some weight and I'm not done yet. Then came the closet revamp. And now styling books are a start to understanding what works and what doesn't. All the books I got from Barnes & Noble are written by women. What amazes me is that they all felt that they had to justify writing a style book!
Oh well, once you get through that first chapter, each book has some valuable insights on how to dress your particular body. Right now I am learning to "layer" using a cardigan over a thin, patterned top. I add a belt for waist definition. Admittedly, it's a work in progress, starting with the idea that just because I'm not leaving the house, I can still wear flattering clothes. Gee, it only took me 70 years to get over the mentality drummed into me from my mom's generation of "saving it for good!" And then there is the negative messages that we get from media that if we're not a perfect size or shape, we don't deserve to look nice.

A good suggestion covered in several of the style books is to arrange your top closet by color. When I did that, I could see that I needed to add more colors and patterns. As I said, a work in progress!

I'M LIVING WITH THE "KENNEBEC KID!"
WHO KNEW?
TRY THIS ADDRESS TO SEE WHAT JACK WAS UP TO WHEN HE WAS A BUDDING ARTIST OF 12 YEARS OLD.

Last night we went dancing with a hoard of college age folk. It was a West Coast Swing Dance at nearby Southern Oregon University. To Jack's surprise, the female dancers lined up to dance with him! Not bad for someone turning 79 tomorrow! They just couldn't wait to get in his clutches! And the good thing is that he didn't disappoint!
